She learned to play the organ, violin and clarinet, but the organ was her favorite. In her retirement years, she took every opportunity possible to get out into nature and take long walks. Community members, family, and friends remember Sister Lois as a quiet, cheerful person, always ready to lend a helping hand. Realizing there were only 30 Consolata sisters left in the United States in the early 1990s, Sister Sandra began exploring American-founded Midwestern religious communities open to international missionary service. Sister Pat loved life and lived it to the fullest. She provided pastoral care at Bethany St. Joseph Nursing Home in La Crosse from 1983 to 1987. Thats what I take.. After graduating from the eighth grade, Sister Jean attended Pilgrim Park Junior High for one year before moving to Brookfield Central High School. As boarders, Sister Margaret and Helen got home one weekend a month. She made profession of vows in 1950. During her time with the Salvation Army, she earned a masters degree in guidance and counseling from Whitworth College in Spokane. Her motto of living life in union with Christ was evident in her recent celebration of her 70th jubilee. She was born in Rochester, NY to Jeremiah J. and Mary O'Connor Collins. In 1989, she was elected Regional Assistant for the FSPA Eastern Region (now Marywood Spirituality Center) in Arbor Vitae, Wisconsin; four years later, she was elected Regional Leader. Sister Kathleen taught elementary and junior high school from 1950 to 1963 at schools in Wausau, Superior, Mosinee, Platteville and Lima (Wisconsin), Guttenberg (Iowa) and Spokane, Washington. At St. Michaels School in Buckman, Minnesota, they had Benedictines of St. Joseph, Minnesota, as their teachers. She was in her 37th year of religious profession. She then moved to Villa St. Joseph in 2012.
